When MBA programs say they need 2+ years of experience, do they REALLY mean it? or is it not that crucial?

If you have everything else - good gmat, references, etc - but have only ONE year of very good full-time business environment work experience, is that okay?? By the way, I have a bachelors of music which is why I really want to get MBA since no one takes a resume seriously if it only has BM on it. Also, I’m looking at MBAs primarily in the EU. Thanks!
